Must be quite heavy, so the fence must be strong. Peculiar picture! Who puts the lock on fence? Is it the intention that you lock your lock on your loved one's lock? Is there also a historical relation with the chastity belt in the Middle Ages :)?

Maybe some of these locks were made in the town I was born in ( it was once a great lock making town, exporting to all over the world, sadly not many factories remain)

Most unusual! Why would lovers make use of locks? Hearts cannot be locked, love cannot be locked......why do we need locks for?
